T & C - FAQ’s
FAQ’s What should I wear? We recommend that you wear anything that is comfortable. We provide you with an apron, but you will probably get muddy up to your elbows, please wear short sleeves. It is preferable to clip your nails short for the wheel as when you lift the walls of your pot the nails will cut into it. It is quite difficult to throw on the wheel with long nails. Can I eat there? We’re sorry, but for health and safety reasons food is prohibited in the clay room. You can bring a drink with a top, or pop out of the room for a cup of tea. Food cannot be brought in unless it is a full day course, longer than 4 hours where we reserve you a table in the main studio and you can bring your own picnic, we provide the drinks for free. Can I bring someone with me? Children must bring one adult with them.  However, for the adult courses, we ask that only the person booked should attend, unless you need someone there for medical reasons. Children are not allowed inside the clay room during adult courses. Do I need to book? We have 4 pottery wheels and they are quite busy and sometimes months in advance, especially on weekends. You must book. Please ring 01303 248056. Time: Clay courses always beging at 10.00 am. T&C’s All courses must be paid for in full when booked. Everyone (and I do mean everyone!) MUST clean their station and the pottery wheel after use. It’s part of being a potter! We will show you how. Items created in clay can take 4 - 8 weeks as stoneware requires two 3 days firing plus the drying time Working with clay is therapeutic and fun.  It leaves you with a sense of achievement, and it is very relaxing. Please do not worry as someone is there to help you at all times and as the course progresses, you will be amazed at what you can create and achieve. Clay is for EVERYONE!
